To this very day I don't find anything wrong about Boku no Pico, because I see it strictly as fantasy, and even beside that, I don't think there's anything wrong with consensual relationships between men and boys. It's a touchy subject—oh, boy, I know—but that's truly how I feel. As a fan of both loli and shota, my opinion is probably very, very biased, but the Pico OVAs, as well as any manga/anime relating to loli/shota are pieces of art, visuals of freedom of thought and speech. o_O;

Protip: When writing about something touchy like this, it's helpful not to describe all the participants like you would in a trashy crime novel. It just makes it sound like you can't handle ideas outside your comfort zone. If this is really Canada's best, I pity the nation.

yeah, how DARE you write about pedophiles in such an insulting manner!

Are you sure the "French nurse" woman is Pico's voice? I saw pictures of the event and she was referred to as "Fujoshi spokeswoman". Besides, Pico's seiyuu isn't revealed anywhere.

god you sound scared of all this. You don't get out much do you?
Japan is going to keep on being weird and scary even if you do freak out over it.
and I love Boku no Pico, its a great animation about fantasy characters that doesn't hurt any children so I can't see why you give a shit.

Also, if its fat guys in little kid costumes I don't know what you are worrying about.
Japans sex crime rate is actually very low because they know how to seperate fantasy from reality and sate everyones needs without hurting others. The USA should take a tip from them.

The writer is just trying to remain detached from it and provide an idea of what it would be like to be there, hence the description of the \\\"cast\\\". Also, fantasies can be harmful if it presents Pedophilia as acceptable. Children are too young to give sexual consent. Also, Pico probably looks like a girl because the staff can\\\'t accept a masculine looking figure to be the \\\"subordinate\\\" figure in a relationship. see coco for further evidence.

I think the staff is trying to minimize/excuse their latent homosexuality or bisexuality by making the boys as girly as possible.

By the way, this is not the only shota project they've been involved with (see also Shounen Maid Curo-kun, as well as some DVD from infamous artist Po-Ju).
