The software is mangling the link to the "If I Was a Man” image. It keeps replacing the backslash before the apostrophe with a forward slash and causing a 404. Thanks for the interview.

There's no accent on the e in Montreal when you write it in English. You guys are know-nothing clowns.

Coeur MougeonDecember 15, 2007 16:51 EST

The federal government puts an accent on the e in Montreal in English, so it must be right. Maybe somebody can buy the Walrus a copy of the Canadian Oxford as a Solstice present.

BTW, apart from snarking over lazy, wannabe-politically-correct copy editing, I want to say: Julie Doucet rocks. Thank you for your unique vision.

Apologies to Julie Doucet, but whats wrong with an accent : Montréal ?

It looks nice. It sounds good. Its the original name of the city, since it was founded by the French. The vast majority of its residents are francophones.

So whats wrong with Montréal ? If you don't like it, move there and demand change.

Way to go the Walrus.
