Moira Cascone: Well, it took a while, and I still don't get some of the cryptic clues beyond the word definitions (e.g., "caws" and "peek"), but with the help of my trusty dog-eared Thesaurus, I did it.

Fraser Simpson, you are single-handedly keeping my tired old brain in operation and I thank you for that, tho' while I'm in the midst of one of your little challenges, my thoughts are far less benign.

I'm waiting for the day that you publish an empty square with the instruction that there are no clues, we have to fill in the words on our own!

If only for Fraser Simpson, The Walrus deserves to be magazine of the year. I just wish that the puzzles came out more often.

Is it true that a book of Walrus puzzles will be announced in March 2008? December 18, 2007 07:48 EST
