Just remember, for over 50 years people of color have had the same problems with the "media" in the United States. The media has framed the image of the European as the standard from which all else is measured. We still see do not see enough people who look like us (color).
We know it's designed to be this way because they (Europeans) control and own the media outlets. So until the balance of power changes and more people of color own media outlets. We people of color will continue to have differences with the portrayals they (Europeans) present of us.
I used to find it odd that something as simple as the evening news would only have Europeans as reporters and news anchors, save for one token person of color, far out of proportion to the demographics of the audience, but then again, they control the media, who they hire and they set the standard for what we see.
Lets hope that in the future very soon will see more positive roles for people of color and more representation.
In the "yes" category, First Nations comics might joke about "dog-shooting day" ... or even a diabolical cocktail called the Bloody Savage. On the other hand, aboriginal audiences enjoy mainstream pop-culture humour such as The Simpsons.
