Dear Finn & Julie//

I do agree on the part of intolerable abuse; however, the point here is that eating dog is no more cruel than eating cows or chickens. If there must be a way to treat the dogs better, it must be so that they are regulated along with other livestock, not like humans. (unless you are speaking of going vegetarian)

Personally, in addition to that, I believe killing or eating of any live beings should be done in more respectful ways, at least provide them with a decent environment while... alive. Becoming vegetarian would be the ultimate solution to stop this act. (Although I sometimes feel like plants have just as much feelings too...)

Julie, you are making no sense out of this post - the post never refers "not considered as livestock" to justify the killing. They are two separate things. If you are strongly opposed to it, at least actually make a sense of what the others are making too.

I think you are simply saying yes to meat, but no to dog meat? That is just sick. I personally do not and will not eat dogs for I am a dog lover, but I pay just as much respect to pig or cow lovers. In fact, in past korea, they ate cows but had the kind of affection we have now on dogs. The only difference is that they drew a line on that they are no human.

The reason the beating is going on is because it is possible with such a small breeding system. If a single owner had to kill tens or more dogs a day, they would willingly adopt the method falling under existing livestock regulations. That is why there ARE organizations against animal cruelty. BTW, there are documentaries that show how pigs and cows are treated, which you don't seem to mind anyways.

This blog is definately entertaining, kudos to you for writing it. I enjoyed reading it as a Korean myself.

I'm 17, and I have never tried dog stew, in which I think is very repusling. I like your blog, except for that part. Dogs are not considered as livestock, so to sum up your words, it's ok to kill them? I'm proud of my nationality, the only thing that makes me sick, is the cruel inhumane way they treat dogs.

I'm getting defensive because this is a topic in which I am strongly opposed to.
