The Walrus Cleans Up at Ad & Design Club Awards


Kudos to the Walrus art department, photographers, designers and illustrators. At the 58th annual Advertising & Design Club of Canada's awards presentation held November 15 at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, The Walrus and its contributors won three golds:
-Magazine Covers: "Too Wired To Think" (April 2007)
-Editorial Illustration: "God's Slow Death," Sam Weber (April 2007)
-Photojournalism: "The Last Lumberjacks," Rita Leistner (March 2007)

The Walrus took eight silvers:
-Art Direction for a Single Magazine Article: "The Teenage Brain" (November 2006)
-Art Direction for a Single Magazine Spread: "Red Rush" (April 2007)
-Editorial Illustration: "Her Dog," Jillian Tamaki (November 2006)
-Editorial Illustration: "Cherry," Marcos Chin (May 2007)
-Conceptual Photography: "A House Half Built," Liz Cowie (June 2006)
-Conceptual Photography: "Brighter Lights, Bigger Cities," Eamon MacMahon (June 2006)
-Portrait Photography: "Ms Canadiana," Robyn Cummings (May 2007)
-Photojournalism: "Separate and Unequal," Eamon MacMahon (February 2007)
